Wife and I cruised our Irwin Citation 39 for eight months a year past. Departing again in December after I return from Turkey. Questions of Yanmar? I have the 27 HP which worked willingly after sorted out apparent overheat problems which were not real. I am not going to upgrade the engine BUT more speed could be useful for crossings. I ran at about 2,700 RPM and when the boat was loaded for cruising the speed was only 4 knots. A small engine working hard yet I have heard of other pushing the RPM to 3,200. Comments? Have a 3 blade prop now. Cheers CdnSailor

I have the same model Irwin.
That is about all you are going to get from that engine (3qm30?). The engine shouldn't be overheating. I would check the heat exchanger.
I'm in the process of upgrading to a 3jh4e- a lot of work. Had to redo the engine bed and lots more.
