We are seriously considering moving up from our Endeavour 33 to a 1990 Irwin 38n MkII center cockpit. Could anyone tell me about their experiences with this model. We like the layout and in particular the center line queen. Is there anything we should look for in particular when go to view it in a few weeks?

Thanks for any and all comments.

Yes, I can tell you about them. I have owned 3 38 CC's...first was an '85..lost her in Hurricane Bonnie..2nd was a 1986..sold that one to fellow Irwinite, Sandy Sanderson, boat is located in Oriental NC area. And now my 3rd, is a 1984..and we have this one tricked out nicely.
I will probaly keep this till I die or can afford a 54.

The 38 is a great bpat.. If you are considering a 1990, Irwin started making that model in 1986, and by 1990, should have had most of the bugs worked out.

In the past, on the old Irwin site, we have posted lots of maintenance items over the years..things like replacing fuel and water tanks, and inside paneling, and the big salon windows ( we switched from lexan to tempered safety glass) Etc..If ou have any specific questions, fee free to ask me..if I don't know, I probably know where to find the answer.

I am hoping Gene Gammon will sign up here..He was Ted's right hand man, and he has all the answers.

Maybe we need to send Gene Gammon an Official invitation?

Take a look at the (madmariner) site, they have a review item on there about Irwin 37CC's. I've had our Irwin 37CC for about 5 years, there are some
picture's on the old Irwin site and this one, under Mike & Glinda. When or if you do get an Irwin 37CC send me a e-mail and I can get you
some of the owners manuals.

Take Care,

I have a few docs myself, When the Documents section of the site is done you will be able to upload what you have so we can keep catalogs of all the Irwin/Engine/Rigging stuff together...

Can anyone point me in a direction to learn more detail about an 87' 38 MK II??
Did this year experiance the quality control that I keep reading about in earlier models?
Is there a particular problem area with this year, leaking or rotting of bulkheads, etc.
How about the tanks?? What are they made of?
Thanks for any input.
